JUNIOR (primary school) & SENIOR (high school)SQUADS: TERM 2, 2019
Tuesdays Squad Sessions:
Track training at Cavanbah Centre, Ewingsdale. Sessions are coached by experienced Athletics Australia accredited coaches (level 2 or higher), who make running fun, whilst teaching key skills (running form, pacing, tactical running). Our Tuesday squad sessions are the main training day (Thursdays optional for runners wishing to compete at representative levels), with the program this term following school cross-country competition schedule.
4.15-5pm: Juniors (8-12 year olds)
5.30-6.30pm: Seniors (high school students)
Wednesdays (term time): BBR 'Kid-Goat' Parent-Child Run (3km), 6-7pm
8-12 year olds and their parents can join Coach Simon for an exciting night-time trail run (head torches needed!) through local national park. Parents/adult must run with children - but there's plenty of rest stops along the way! From 6-7pm every Wednesday; run location changes (to keep things interesting), so please email the club if you'd like to be added to the whatsapp chat group for latest run info.
Thursdays (optional training, for runners competing at representative levels):
Track training at Cavanbah Centre.
4.30-5.15pm: Sprint and hurdles training (100m, 200m, 400m, 4 x 100m relay; hurdles): combined juniors and seniors session.
5.30-6.30pm: Middle-long distance and steeplechase: combined juniors and seniors session
Tuesdays : Coaches Denise/Chris(tine)
6-7pm (full adult members or gold coin donation): Track or strength (hill) session. Suitable for all runners (from newbies to experienced Parkrunners and sprint or Olympic distance Triathletes), who are looking to improve times over 5km and 10km. As this is a structured, coached session free to full members, or gold coin donation for social run members. *Whatsapp Chat Group available**
Thursdays :10km'ish Trail Run (Run Co-Ordinator: Simon/Gary)
6pm, (open to all adult runners):
Get off the bitumen, and explore our beautiful national parks and coastal headlands. Check our facebook page on the day to see the start of the run (usually Broken Head/Seven Mile Beach carpark). Meet just before 6pm for a briefing on the run for that week. Lots of points to stop and enjoy the view and drinks after at Suffolk Park Hotel to talk all about it! Sundays : 8-10km recovery run (or shorter)
7am. Check our facebook page on the day to see run location (most weeks meet at the Peace Pole by Byron surf club - although we have 'away' runs in Brunswick Heads, Lennox Heads and Bangalow, to share the running love!). Co-ordinated by Gary, an easy chatty social run, to finish the week off. **Whatsapp Chat Group available**
