Corporate Challenge, Runaway Bay.
Race Report

Eight Byron Bay Runners braved the monsoonal conditions at Corporate Challenge, Runaway Bay on Sunday 17th February in the first of the 5km fun runs, the official
lead up series to the Gold Coast Airport Marathon.

Club members Caroline, Peta, Hunter, Jasmine, Emma, Helen, Polly and Sarah participated in the Brooks 5km Series and the Athletes Foot Progressive Series (each a series of 5 races).

It wouldn't be a race day without medals and Byron Bay Runners did us proud. Polly sped home with a first place in her age group in the 5km progressive series and an impressive 3rd overall female. Caroline narrowly missed second place and received a third in her age group in the progressive series and Helen did a great effort winning a medal for third in her age group in the 5km series.

Many of us ran PBs and achieved our individual goal times for the day. It was inspiring to see people of all ages and abilities running and a great experience to feel like a champion (for a minute or two) finishing the final lap in the stadium.

We'll all be back for more at next month's race on Sunday 17 March.
