Weekly Club Runs: Summer 2020-21 

All adult social runs are in operation (in accordance with Athletics NSW 'Return to Sport' Guidelines.

IMPORTANT: Please click on the 'Return to Training' regulations if you intend to attend a group training session:

UPDATE: 17 JULY 2020

Please note training groups are currently limited to 20 participants, with physical distancing (1.5m) at all times. Please confirm your attendance prior to attending training, so we can ensure we have enough coaches to split groups if needed. 

Do not attend training for if you are feeling unwell (even mild symptoms e.g. temperature, headache, respiratory symptoms) or have no symptoms but have visited Victoria or NSW 'hotspots' within the last 14 days, as listed here https://www.nsw.gov.au/covid-19/latest-news-and-updates

Online tailored training programs are available on request, for full members and senior squad members. Please speak to your coach or email byronbayrunners@gmail.com for more information.

Current Summer (January - Easter 2021) run schedule:


Kids/Teens : Trail/beach/road/hill session: meet Clarke's Beach Carpark (to the left of the toilet block, by picnic tables)


  • Junior (primary school) Middle/Long Distance squad: 5-6pm Coaches - Simon, Finn, Pete

  • Senior (high school): Middle/Long Distance squad: 6-7pm. Coaches - Caroline, Pete

  • Sprint squad (juniors and seniors combined): 5-6pm: Coaches - Caroline, Naomi (hill reps and beach sprints) - wear road shoes not spikes


  • Speed-Endurance/Strength session: 6-7pm Usually meet around Clarke's Beach Carpark). Coach Chris - whatsapp group. Coached session - free for full members or gold coin donation per session for social run members.

Please note that on Summer Sizzler event dates (9 March 2021) there are NO junior or senior squad sessions.


Kids/Teens: Please note spectators must register their attendance with the club coach, for COVID compliance. 

Optional Track session (for runners competing in QA or ANSW track events)

  • 5-6pm: sprint/hurdles/relay:  Coaches Caroline and Naomi

  • 5--6.30pm: middle/long distance: threshold session - Coaches Pete and Caroline


Adults :

  • 6-7pm: Social run (open to full and social run members). Trail/beach/road run. Check club facebook page (click on FB logo above) for details of start location/duration of this week's run; members email the club to be added to the Whatsapp group. Run co-ordinators, Simon, Gary.

  • 5-6.30pm : Track training (threshold session) Coaches Pete and Caroline: threshold session (full members/gold coin social run members)



Teens/Adults :

7-8am: social (recovery) run. Open to seniors squad, adults full and social run members. Usually a mix of beach/trail/road between 6-10km (easy pace with lots of stops).
