Inaugural Byron Rainforest Trail Race

One year after the devastating floods that tore through the Northern Rivers, it was such a joy to welcome runners from all over to compete and celebrate in a morning of running through the beautiful Hinterland.

After meticulous planning and months of work behind the scenes, the inaugural Byron Rainforest Trail race went off without a hitch as the 25km Postie’s Round runners set off over the hilly yet beautiful course. Nik Adamson was the first runner across the line in the male race, with Amber Wood winning the females.

Byron Bay Runners juniors were dominant across the 12km Nightcap Nudge event, with in form runners Connor McGreevy and Wyana Petriemale-Sewell taking the win.

Illness unfortunately depleted the sold out field in the final event of the day, the 5km Mini Minyon however this didn’t put a dent in the competitors enthusiasm with Sorrell Millis having a commanding win in the ladies race and Keelan Birch in the mens.

Congratulations to all the runners and thank you for the support. The event reached maximum capacity within a few days of entries opening and we can not wait to welcome everyone back in 2024.
